Javan,
Yes. I had to use the cockpit locker access to use the Sawzall on the shaft. The fuel tank was just overhead but no sparks were created sawing the bronze shaft.
Thanks for reading.

It looks good! How did you get such good access to the hose and log area? On our boat you can hardly reach that spot with your hand, let alone replace the hose. Did you go through the cockpit locker? It seems that my fuel tank prevents me from doing that. Thanks.

Thanks Rich. Our old boat seems to always be needing attention. It is hard to keep up with her 'honey-do' list.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for checking in and the birthday wishes. I'd take you sailing on my T 27' anytime with our attention hungry old Atomic 4 engine.
The electric angle is a nice idea but we needed new sails so the money went there instead ($$$$). It is a sail boat after all and needs sails.
The A4 engine is really a good engine once you get to know it. I'm still getting to know it and appreciate the simplicity of the design and we have been doing our own maintenance and saving a bundle thanks to Moyer Marine Inc. who specialize in Atomic 4 gasoline engines. <a href="http://www.moyermarine.com//forums/index.php" rel="nofollow">
Our engine is 43 years old and still running.
I wish I took auto shop in high school though now that I've gotten my finger nails dirty.

Caleb,

She looks wonderful! Since it seems that I will not be making the mid-Hudson my permenant sailing grounds, I will have to take you up on your offer before she goes on the hard again.

Regards,
